WHO IS JARED WOLFE?

I’ve had a love for shotguns since I was a boy. When I was 10, my dad got my brother and me a couple of pump actions, a hundred-pack of shells, and a hand thrower for Christmas. I was hooked right there.

For years the three of us would head up into the mountains and try to make each other miss. We dabbled in trap for a while but never took to it — we preferred the hand thrower. Then an insurance charity event introduced us to sporting clays, and that was it. I couldn’t believe no one had told me about this sport sooner.

I went home and found the PSCA online, watched everything I could, and convinced myself this game would be easy. I found a local NSCA tournament, entered, and got obliterated. Humbling. That’s also when I got serious.

A few years later I was traveling to compete in other states, finding myself near the top of the results more and more, and completely immersed in everything the sport has to offer. I compete as a Master class shooter in NSCA-sanctioned events and have logged years of registered competition across Sporting, FITASC, Super Sporting, and 5-Stand. The sport has pushed me in ways I didn’t expect — personally, mentally, and technically — and I’m grateful for everything it’s given me.

Now I want to give some of that back. My goal is to share what I’ve learned — about equipment, technique, purposeful practice, and the mental side of competition — with anyone who wants to get into this sport or take their game further. Whether you’ve never picked up a shotgun or you’re already competing, there’s something here for you.
